DLP (Data Loss Prevention)
Solutions for data loss prevention are developed to keep classified company data safe from leaks. The goal is to find, track and protect data in storage mediums (such as file servers), transmission mediums (such as e-mails, instant messaging, ftp) and application mediums (such as users’ computers, flash memory). A variety of “deep content analysis” techniques may be employed to track down and protect the data.
Network DLP solutions have been developed with the intent of protecting classified data transmitted across a network. In this context, the goal is to protect data sent over the network via e-mail, ftp and/or instant message. Endpoint DLP solutions are developed to protect data that might leak from sources such as end users’ computers and flash memory.
