What can I do with Imzamatik?
Even though the Internet is widely used today in every field from online banking to e-government applications, we are still required to confirm our transactions with printed documents signed with wet signatures. Without this measure, transactions or forms filled out have no validity whatsoever. However, with the passage of the Electronic Signature Law (law number 5070, valid as of 23 July 2004), electronic signatures are now as legally binding as wet signatures. This gives us the opportunity to use our electronic signatures for documents produced in electronic mediums.
As an individual, you may use Imzamatik for
- signing e-mails you send with Microsoft Outlook
- signing PDF documents prepared using Adobe Acrobat
- signing PDF documents converted from other formats (Word, Excel etc.)
- signing drawings prepared with AUTOCAD
- verifying to other parties that a given email and/or document really came from you and has not been altered in any way (the recipient does not have to use any special software for this application).
- providing legal validity for a signed document (petition, receipt of permission, proposal, contract, report, design).

In order to use Imzamatik, you must first have TurkcellMobilİmza. Anyone who has TurkcellMobilİmza can easily begin to use this application.
You can start to use the Imzamatik service right away by activating your membership, downloading the necessary software to your computer, and buying as many credits as you need.
Who can use Imzamatik?
Everyone with a TurkcellMobilİmza can use Imzamatik. As described under the heading What can I do with Imzamatik?, any individuals and institutions who want to legally sign their emails and documents could use Imzamatik.
What is MobilImza and how does it work?
urkcellMobilİmza can be used to verify your identity in electronic medium and creates a legally binding signature that is equivalent to a wet signature. In other words, TurkcellMobilİmza is a service that enables its user to sign by using GSM SIM cards, making this as valid as an electronic signature as described in the Electronic Signature Law numbered 5070.
The “signature composing data” is derived from the Qualified Electronic Certificate, which in turn is obtained as a result of a TurkcellMobilİmza subscription. This data is kept in a high level security area on a SIM card. The TurkcellMobilİmza service is activated by software stored in the same area that uses the signature composing data. A safe process of electronic signing is only possible with the user’s TurkcellMobilİmza password. This TurkcellMobilİmza password is used on the card and is not sent to any other destination.
The legal validity of a Mobile Signature
TurkcellMobilİmza is a service that uses SIM cards in mobile phones for electronic signatures as defined in the Electronic Signature Law numbered 5070. Therefore, the signature is legally valid and can be used as evidence.
With the exception of certain transactions which legally require a ceremony and/or the testimony of a third person (marriage, land registration, etc.), TurkcellMobilİmza can be used for all private, public and banking transactions requiring a wet signature.
