Secure Document and Data Exchange
E-signature usage has not yet become as widespread as expected. One of the main reasons for this is the lack of appealing applications that might attract individuals to use their e-signatures. Many corporations have already planned for or started to use Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS). Still, when documents developed and circulated within the confines of a given corporation are sent to another firm, they must be transferred to paper format for wet signature, since no recognized standard mechanism or format exists for electronic transfer.
Private companies also need similar systems for securely sending, exchanging and, if the need arises, archiving documents dealing with bids, orders, and order confirmations. The need for data transfer between private companies and banks is increasing on a daily basis. Transactions such as payment orders and result and balance inquiries are handled manually or using insecure methods such as fax and e-mail, and every bank conducts these transactions differently. There is a need for standard and secure data transfer infrastructure.
